MISINFORMATION

If your costs have not reduced, you are entitled to a continuation of Special Benefit – Temporary Assistance Support. This support can go on indefinitely.

Work and Income employees are a law unto themselves. This is evidenced by the testimony of thousands of hard pressed New Zealanders. There are many disadvantaged and disabled kiwi's in jail, sick, hospitalized or dead as a result of the mean, unproactive spirit emitting from Work and Income employees.

Our 1991 Toyota Corona was 17 years old and had done just on 250,000 kms. The other day I saw my case manager in regards to an application I had made for a special benefit to assist with the purchase of a replacement vehicle needed for my, and my wife's medical treatment's. My case manager told me the Service Centre Manager had turned the application down because we were already receiving a special benefit for our Corona.

A lie

This was not true. He was aware that the special benefit for the Corona had ceased a few weeks earlier. This fact was on their files. I also pointed out to him that he was my case manager as such it was his responsibility to ensure he presents the facts to his boss. His excuse that he had 2000 clients doesn't wash. He is very experienced and should have done his job in a professional manner before handing the application onto his Service Centre Manager, especially while aware that she would decline to grant a Special Benefit after she read his false submission.

My understanding is that the Service Centre Manager would have approved the application if she had been informed of the true facts.

I have no doubt my case manager knew the situation very well but chose to disadvantage my wife and I by failing to inform the Service Centre Manager of the facts before submitting his statement. I wonder how many lives have been ruined because of WINZ staff presenting a false statement to their Service Centre Manager.

The next step is a Benefit Review Committee. I shall look forward to this because having experienced the lack of integrity of the two WINZ panel members, the community representative, and my case manager, who take part; It is a foregone conclusion that I shall lose against this gang – 4 against 1. This will give me the chance to appeal to the Social Security Appeal Authority. It will cost the taxpayer $10,000 at least to have the case heard by the SSAA.

The Beast v the slaves

I had hoped the days of being subjected to deception was more or less over. Unfortunately for the disadvantaged in New Zealand, deception and lies, by beastly professional people upon the low income slaves will always be a Work and Income policy priority. As I have said before; you cannot change the nature of the beast. In this instance Work and Income New Zealand is the beast.

In my view, this government corporation is largely responsible for the increasing family violence including the murder of their babies. New Zealand has the highest rate of violence and murder - next to the USA – in the world. It is second to none in its mistreatment of its sick and disabled. It also has the worst record in the Western world in terms of 60% of its population living on the poverty line.

To own your own home in New Zealand is impossible for this 60%. We often hear our fat cat politicians and other obscenely paid CEO's in NZ spouting how “it is no good throwing money at the poor”. Why not? It is the poor, including the disabled and ill who need money more than these parasites.

This present Labour government has a record 16 billion - $16,000,000,000,000 – sitting in its coffers. The lot should be spent on ensuring that those in the most need are lifted out of their potentially violent circumstances due to the misery which poverty spawns, and and set up an easy to obtain deposit for a mortgage. Better still the government should buy houses for the extremely needy.
