WORK AND INCOME NZ

part 4

Worst in world

August 2006 – Local Newspapers report that New Zealand has the worst record of all Western nations in the care of their sick and disabled.

Everything hereto are my opinions, views, and experiences over nine years of constant battle with Work and Income NZ (New Zealand Income Support Services as it was once known). These views and opinions are expressed pursuant to and under the protection of the NZ Bill of Rights Act.

Nasty business

Work and Income NZ never stop dishonouring their commitments. Even Service Centre Manager's will cheat, lie, and mislead the sick and disabled in order to save their political masters a few dollars of taxpayers money.

Unfortunately this principal does not apply to their own salary's and perks. Records reveals that any amount of financial recuperation of costs spent on their own travel is reimbursed at 100%. An invalids costs are sometimes reimbursed at the rate of only 30%, even though the invalid through no fault of their own has no other income other than government assistance.

Good ol' Jill

Jill Tait, Work and Income NZ's mother of all Service Centre Manager's, promised to allow a few kilometers a week for a chronically ill invalid to travel to a swimming pool in order to undertake hydrotherapy if she obtained from her GP “further written verification” to that which he had already been provided on her Annual Invalid Benefit Renewal form, and that the hydrotherapy was an essential and ongoing treatment.

However, the Service Centre Manager, did not keep her promise. Neither did she honour her commitment to allow an additional 50kms a week for this WINZ client to engage in the treatment of “Relaxation drives”. This form of treatment is often recommended by psychologists and GP's alike. It's a simple and cheap activity of having someone drive the invalid around the local area, which is, as most recognises as a great way to just sit back, take in the scenery and relax.

Cannot be trusted

Work and Income employees cannot be trusted to keep their promises. At every turn a disabled person can expect to be denied their entitlements through the devious practices of Work and Income employees.

Claim for arrears

I have, on behalf of the above client, applied for about $900 in arrears. This is the amount the client will receive after the true cost of about $2457.84 has been through the Minister's Formula to reduce the amount of reimbursement to only 30% of costs.

Tricky-Dicky Stuff

Has already begun. The client's case Manager has informed me that he will have difficulty in recovering the appropriate documents in the beneficiaries files. The reason for this latest tricky-dickey ploy will no doubt will be revealed. I'll let you know.

Documents removed from our file

I was discovered to me that documents absolutely necessary for the continuation of Sheryl's and my disability allowances had been removed from our file at the Work and Income NZ office in Levin.

What does this indicate?

That the Chief Executive of Work and Income NZ is about to execute another dirty trick by canceling all Sheryl's and my transport Disability costs needed for the essential treatment of our illnesses just as the Service Centre Manager, Jill Tait of the Fielding branch did on Sheryl's 60th birthday 2 years ago.

No change of circumstances

There has been no change of our circumstances. The only change of circumstances to have taken place seems to be the removal from our files of documents approving the disability allowances. Tricky-dickey stuff indeed.

Change of case manager

Many beneficiaries have mentioned that almost every time they go into Work and Income for an interview they find that a new case manager has been allocated to them.

The reason is that copies of WINZ documents sent to the client have been removed from their file so that the new case manager has nothing to work from. Have you noticed the words of greeting from the case manager? Always it is, Hullo, what can I do for you today.” (It is a carefully worded and rehearsed greeting) Even though you may have explained in a letter or verbally what your needs are, with these words the new case manager is telling you, I don't know what you are here for, please start from the beginning.” and so your frustration has already started and can only get worse.

WINZ staff - great magicians

Documents and even whole files can mysteriously vanish. Its a case of 'Now you see it, now you don't', along with your entitlements to badly needed assistance.

The the aim of the Ministry of Social development and Work and Income NZ. Is to destroy any hope, any expectation of you ever receiving your entitlements as set down in legislation.

I state again that Work and Income NZ is a government body established by the government to deny needy and deserving persons any sort of financial assistance.

Prophecy

'I have sworn upon the alter of God, eternal hostility against all forms of tyranny upon the mind of man.' (Abraham Lincoln)

The word of the lord came to me saying, son of man, direct thy words to the whole House of Israel, and to the house of Judah. Say unto them:

Why have you abandoned me? Have not all your benefits been given unto thee by my hand? Yet you have not sought me with a clean heart. Neither have you called upon me in honesty. But with guile you have tried to please me. And with a crooked smile have you questioned that which I do.

Thus saith thy God, if you will seek me now, and seek me earnestly while I am near, and if you will call upon me, and if the wicked man will depart from doing evil; And if the unrighteous man will return unto me, I will abundantly pardon him.
